In recognition of outstanding contributions by people and organizations who are “Making a Difference”, the Better Ending Partnership presented an award to the Worcester District Medical Society, accepted by Executive Director Joyce Cariglia. The award recognized the Society for promoting the vision and work of Better Ending since its inception in 2002 through numerous end-of-life educational initiatives for physician members.
The Worcester Business Journal recognized the Better Ending Partnership as a "Health Care Hero". The award recognized the Partnership for its community service to Central Massachusetts residents in helping to ensure better end-of-life care.
In recognition of outstanding contributions by people and organizations who are “Making a Difference”, the Better Ending Partnership presented awards to the following two people, who promoted the Guide and Better Ending Partnership messages to their constituencies:
- Virginia McDonald, vice president and director of human resources at Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, who chaired the Employer Work Group, providing Better Ending materials to human resource directors and company employees at local businesses.
- Robert W. Sorrenti, MD, vice president and medical director of UniCare, who brought the Guides, educational sessions, and telephone advice, to 38,000 UniCare member state retirees.
