Promote Advance Care Planning
via A Guide for a Better Ending
Accomplished: The Worcester County Bar Association has encouraged attorneys who are doing estate plans to include advance care planning discussion and directives. An article by Rick Barry, A More Effective Health Care Proxy Form, in the newsletter of the Worcester County Bar Association described the Partnership program. Literature has been made available at Bar Association meetings. Law firms are being urged to include information in newsletters and websites.
Planned:
- Ensure that each of the major law firms are informed
about and using the Partnership materials.
- Present a progress report at a meeting of the
WCBA Executive Committee.
- Ensure participation in Bar Day.
- In October of 2005, the American Bar Association may again sponsor Health Care Decisions week. The work group will see that the WCBA participates in collaboration with the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Compassionate Care Coalition.
- Send mailing of Better Ending materials to estate
lawyers in Central MA and encourage their use with clients.
